Yay! I’ve put up a brand new site for my class. I present you Phoenix, class 04/05 of Stella Aviation Academy in Teuge.

It’s a now heavily modded phpBB install – I really don’t have the time to build a site from the ground up. I’m very happy with it. It’s relatively easy to mod and it has quite a few nice prefab modifications. Amongst other mods, the Photo Album mod and the Attachment mod have been successfully installed and I managed to make some cool modifications to the code myself aswell.

As our Dutch visitors can read there we started ATPL classes yesterday. We kicked off with General Navigation, which is about stuff like latitude/longitude, distance calculation, wind correction, etcetera. Pretty cool :)

Radio Navigation is up next (on monday). Third class is Communication. All three classes will be examinated in February, so the pressure is turned up a bit compared to PPL but we should all be able to make it just fine. Wish me luck :)

Again quite some time has passed since my last update. Time to post something again ‘cos a lot has changed.

I quit my study at Delft University . It just lost it’s charm so I decided I wanted to do something else with my life. And oh man did I find something else – I’m gonna be a commercial pilot! I joined pilot school last September and in about two years I’ll have a frozen Airline Transport Pilot License in my pocket. After that I can stay in school to become an instructor or get a type rating for a commercial aircraft and get an airline company to recruit me (or so I hope).

I finished PPL (Private PL) classes a few weeks ago and at the moment I’m waiting for the weather to allow me to do flying lesson 05. After about 12-15 lessons (hours) I should have my first solo flight. Once that happens I’ll be back on the ground for about eight months as we’ll then be ploughing through our ATPL books. I’ll have to miss the fun of flying for a while but still it’ll be a great time – I love pilot school :D

Of course I’ve moved house again and this time I’m actually living together with a few classmates of mine. It’s great to be with them and I’m sure we’ll keep getting along just fine. We have a shared bedroom but so far no one’s had any problems with that so that’s good.

I can think of much, much more to write but I’m gonna call it a day for now. BBL :)

It’s been a while again but I’m not dead yet :)

I’ve been working on the new design you are looking at right now and I think I like it. I dropped CuteNews and I’m now using a simple custom made CMS built on PHP and SQL. I didn’t get around to building a comments database yet but I’ll add that later. Also, I might have killed a few links. We’ll have to do with this for now though :p

My Battlefield 1942 clan hasn’t been doing much lately and I haven’t been scripting TCL for a while but today I was told there was a bug in bffind.tcl. I’ve fixed it: get v2.31 now.

I’m a bit late with this but I went to this years AutoRAI motor show and I got to see the Saab 9-3 Sport-Hatch Concept. My dad has a Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan so I was eager to check the S-H out. It’s beautiful – I hope they put it into production some day!

Finally had my 1m long “Koploper” passenger train drive a few rounds on my track last weekend – check the vids :D

Also, rk.com was sold today for a grand total of EUR 20.725,79. Congrats to whoever got his hands on it.
